¿Qué es el seguro a primer riesgo?

seguro a primer riesgo

First risk insurance is a form of home insurance. This type of insurance can be very beneficial for the insured in some cases, since it simplifies the claim for compensation in the event of an accident or theft.

With first risk insurance, a certain value is insured up to which the insured is covered, regardless of the total value . This makes it possible to know at all times what the compensation will be without applying the proportional rule, which is the formula applied by the insurance company in the event of a claim when the policy is underinsured . Home insurance at first risk can be carried out on the continent and on the contents, and can be combined with insurance for the total value or with other insurance.

Home insurance at first risk on the continent

Home insurance at first risk on the continent is very interesting when the community of neighbors already has insurance.

The first risk insurance on the continent allows the insured to have covered what the community insurance does not contemplate in the policy. In these cases, the first risk insurance is made for a capital less than the total value of the continent, since this is already included in the community policy and is made simply to ensure that everything is covered.

This insurance at first risk on the mainland is also very suitable for people who have a rental home . This type of insurance is very appropriate when you have a rental property to be able to quickly solve any incident that the owner does not take care of properly (either because he does not have insurance, or because he does not care, or because the owner’s insurance company puts obstacles, etc.).

Insurance at first risk on the content

First risk insurance on the content has the same advantage as in the case of the container: by not applying the proportional rule, in the event of loss or theft, compensation is paid with an amount fixed in advance.

Jewelry and works of art are usually insured at first risk, provided that they do not have a value greater than 1,600 euros or their value exceeds 10% of the total insured. For these cases there are specific insurances. Appliances, electrical appliances and furniture are also usually insured at first risk.

Advantages and disadvantages of first risk insurance

The main disadvantage of first risk insurance is that compensation is not charged for the total value, but only up to the insured amount in each case. There are cases in which it can be more profitable than applying the proportionality rule and, furthermore, it is much faster.

Hola Bartolome: No molestas y tienes razón hace mucho que no he respondido.
